The final stretch

Okay, I sort of intended this pun.

This post is called "The final stretch" because
1) This is the final stretch of this pregnancy (just over 4 weeks until my due date).
2) This child likes to stretch and every time he does I'm convinced he hopes it will be the final time he has to stretch in such a cramped place!

So, here we are in the final stretch.

My body's tired and achy and sore and worn out and puking more again and all that fun stuff. Whew.

I've also been having quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions these days. Hopefully that means that when the time comes my body will be way ready. :) We'll see ha ha.

On Saturday we went to the BYU-Virginia football game. It was a lot of fun!

Also, it was hilarious because starting at the beginning of the 3rd quarter I started having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions-- we counted 15 in the final 2 quarters of the game and then 7 more on our walk back to the car. They didn't hurt or anything.

But it got me thinking that I may have much less time to get ready than I was thinking. Hmmm... So, the nesting has seriously kicked in I think. I mean, I've been trying to get stuff done all along, but now I'm like carrying my to do list around with me every second.

I read a few funny "You know you're in the third trimester when..." jokes. Here are my favorites:
-There are crumbs on your belly that you don’t notice until you stand up.
-You select your shoes based on which would be the easiest to put on.
-Rolling over in bed is a task that requires counting out loud. 1,2,3 GO! (Stupid sciatica...)

Aaaand that's where we're at these days. :) School, homework, meetings, theses, research, and trying to quickly do the last things we need to do to get ready for this baby who likes to stretch his legs straight out to the point I end up with heels pushing out clear behind my side shirt seam (didn't know that was possible).

Happy arrival of Fall!
